Well... Since the last posting, ASMZ have been gathering steam all across Europe. The group recently finished the first leg of their "13 Blues..." tour with a celebratory performance in Dresden.
Photos of the recent travels were posted at "Les Disques Constellation Chez Differ-Ant".
And now, as the group makes their way across the pond, (embarking on their US leg of the tour) many are speculating as to what the set list will look like... The European tour generally took to variations of the following songs:
- 13 Blues for 13 Moons
- Black Waters Blowed/Engine Broke Blues
- Metal bird (a new song, available for listen in our "media" section)
- 1,000,000 Died To Make This Sound
- There's a Light (also a new song available for listen in our "media" section)
- Microphones in the Trees
- Hang on to Each Other
- Blind Blind Blind
It appears that the "Horses In The Sky" era seems to have run it's course, and the new live material is better than ever. (Microphones.. is great to see revamped!)
The North American leg of the tour will wrap up with back-to-back shows in Toronto (June 7th, 8th) and now it looks like ASMZ might have a fall tour planned. The group will be heading to New York in September for this year's All Tomorrow's Parties Festival. According to the festival's website, ASMZ will be performing at some point during the 3 day festival. A specific concert date has not been released. More info here.
Also, the great Justin Gray will now be doing all the writing here on MMoS, this text was his first newspost, thanks Justin!
A lot has been going on in the world of ASMZ. Most importantly might be the fact that they did their first show after the release of 13 Blues on March the 20th in Montreal, in which they played two new songs, titled Metal Bird and There's A Light (which Efrim described as "catchy"). Luckily someone made a recording of this and put the full show online, you can download the zip-file over here. I'll try to contact the person who made this bootleg so I can upload those two new songs apart to the media section over here.
The full setlist :
- 13 Blues For 13 Moons
- Black Waters Blowed - Engine Broke Blues
- Metal Bird
- Blind Blind Blind
- 1,000,000 Died To Make This Sound
- There's A Light
- Microphones in The Trees
- Hang On to Each Other
Also CST has released all of the European tour dates, which I've put on the tour page.
As for other news, in a recent interview Efrim said that his computer, with all the mixing of the "Fuck You Draculas" live album, was stolen and at that time the recordings of 13 Blues for 13 Moons started so he didn't have time yet to re-start. Same goes for the War Radio shows : they have recordings of it but they weren't happy with the mixing so far. Also CST has made a new site, dedicated the french public on which two band photos of ASMZ appear, and also the a page on which ASMZ will post some of their pictures that they will take while they're on tour. Exciting!!!
And on a side-note : please excuse me for the rather sloppish english, if you yourself have the time and some good writing skills please contact me.
The moment some of you have been eagerly awaiting has come : "13 Blues for Thirteen Moons" has found his way onto the internet. I won't be posting any links to it here, and I don't want to encourage you either to download it, but still, if you like ASMZ as much as I do, you may understand why people download it. You can pre-order your copy of the 13 Blues for Thirteen Moons CD or 2x180gr LP here. Might be a good idea to temper your "download guilt".
The first things to be noticed is that those announced drones (from track 1 till 12) are all in between 4 and 11 seconds and pretty fast you get to hear the real songs, which are ofcourse very nice, and include some brand new lyrics, which weren't included in the live versions. Talking about lyrics, if someone has an idea what they are, please don't hesitate to send them to me, so I can put them online.
In other news, some of the European dates have popped up too :
- 04 APRIL 2008 - Nijmegen, NL - Doornroosje
- 08 APRIL 2008 - London, UK - Scala
Normally an official announcement about these European tour dates will come online on the CST site soon.

Today, Constellation has revealed the new ASMZ North American tour dates : first there will be a gig in their hometown Montreal on the 20th of March, and a month later their real tour starts at the First Unitarian Univresalist on the 16th of May. I posted the full list of tour dates here under.
As for some more tour dates coming up, someone send me an e-mail in which he claimed that the band told him they'd do a tour in Australia, but this hasn't been officially confirmed yet. Also I expect them to come over to Europe too, but no official confirmations there either.

And last but not least, I'd like to wish you all a good new year! May 13 Blues For 13 Moons warm your heart soon!

So I've finally finished it : the new layout!
After months of hard working, trying to make new layouts, which proved rubbish until I made this one. The reason to make a new one? Well the old one wasn't correctly coded, showed some faults in the display of some browsers, and most of all, it just ehm... well looked ugly in my humble opinion.
But not only the layout has changed, I've also uploaded some new MP3 files of the new (yet unreleased) songs which will appear on ASMZ's upcoming album called "13 Blues For Thirteen Moons". All of them are in excellent quality and ready for download at the media section.
As for the real ASMZ news : Constellation has uploaded a page with lots of info about the upcoming record. Like for example the fact that the album will be pressed on 100% recycled fine paper and that it will contain (for the first time in the history of ASMZ) a booklet with lyrics! Hurray!
Talking about lyrics, someone also had the time to write down the lyrics of Blind Blind Blind, wheter they are correct or not, I'm not sure, in case you've got some suggestions for changements, don't hesitate to contact me. The same goes for other bugs in the site (which I'm sure, will occur).
Also ASMZ's song "Tho You Are Gone I Still Often Walk With You" was used for a trailer of the 4th season of the well-known TV-serie Lost, you can check it out here.
